Training through the Pandemic
The fourth Corona wave hit, and suddenly I wasn’t allowed to train with my group anymore. It was frustrating.
I adapted. On November 15th, I started my very first proper training protocol (was very reluctant of doing that before). It felt like a real step: writing things down, planning sessions, actually tracking what I was doing instead of just showing up. I wanted to take care of this log and keep it going.
Not being allowed to compete was the hardest for me during the pandemic. It is like going to work every day without getting paid. You put in all the effort, but there’s no outlet. No race to point it toward. It made me question deeply if I should continue the sport.
It got cold and icy outside. Winter is really here now.
For December I have this job in a calendar production. Exhausting. After work, the motivation to get outside and train was low.
No group practice — just me, the dark, and the cold. It’s hard to keep it going like that.
